Texting after a missed call for IT support desks
A missed call about an employee calling because a system is down stays a phone event. IT support desks send the follow-up text with the SMS API on the same account, and only when the person already agreed to receive it.
The call that nobody answered
If the location is closed, the caller gets voicemail. If agents are busy, the caller can wait in the queue. Neither path sends an SMS on its own.
The text you choose to send
IT support desks call POST /v1/messages with the caller as the to-number when consent is already on file. The body should name the business and the reason, which is the missed conversation about an employee calling because a system is down.
What not to automate
Do not text a purchased list of people who called once. Opt-in for the text program still belongs to IT support desks. 10DLC registration still applies to US application-to-person traffic.
FAQ
Does TxtNexus text the caller automatically?
No. Voice and SMS share the account. IT support desks send the text with the API when they decide to.
Does a voicemail count as opt-in for texts?
No. A phone call is not consent to text. IT support desks need the same opt-in they use for any other program.
